A new game, a new line-up and a new chance to turn the tide. Victor Kristiansen was back in the team for the first time this season. Also starts to Louis Page and Jeremy Monga. Divine Mukasa also kept his place. Ben Nelson given the captains armband.
Leicester looked lively from start and the players out there looked to enjoy it. Leicester were the better team in the early minutes and had a number chances to score.
It also looked controlled in the back with no real danger in front of Jacub Stolarczyk. Then in the 27th minute Louis Page gets a yellow card, again not really necessary.
Towards the end of the half Stephy Mavididi has two attempts going close, but in some way the best player on the field, Southampton goalkeeper George Long, makes a number of great saves.
Then just as the final whistle blows, Leicester again makes stupid mistakes. When shall stop, as Caleb Okoli makes a fould inside the box and Southampton rewarded a penalty. Cyle Larin scores from the spot.
Leicester again as normal are trying and looks to be on top, but they are not clinical enough in front of goal and has to see 0-1 result at half time.
Leicester comes out lively also early on in the second half. They put pressure on Southampton with attempts from Jordan Ayew, Louis Page and Jeremy Monga are stopped. Then in the 52nd minute finally Leicester breaks the duck. Oliver Skipp scores with acrobatics. What a fantastic goal from the former Spurs man. Leicester are equal.

Leicester comes close to finish it all in their advantage, but again the ball is kept out. There are substitutions made in the 67th minute. Luke Thomas coming on for Victor Kristiansen. Harry Winks to replace Louis Page.
Ricardo Pereira comes on for Olabade Aluko in the 79th minute. Patson Daka replacing Jordan Ayew. Luke Thomas and Ben Nelson again foolishly picks up yellow cards, which of course also makes defenders more passive. Leicester makes another substitution in the 87th minute when Jeremy Monga goes off and Dujuan Richards comes on.
The game goes to extra-time. The first half goes without any major treath from any of teams. Then in the 108th minute Andy King decides to take off Stephy Mavididi and replace with Silko Thomas. A minute later Southampton scores the goal that see them through to the next round.
Leicester lost today, and again Andy King is losing with his Leicester team. The fourth game, the fourth defeat. At the same time it is no clear that Leicester are in The Championship relegation zone after Blackburn’s impressive 3-1 win away to Queens Park Rangers.
This looks as a total crash and to get this back on track must be done very fast, or else, Leicester will be relegated to League One. Next up is two away games vs. Stoke and Middlesbrough.
