John Terry, captain of Chelsea and England defender, was at Leicester in 2023 to be part of the coaching staff under caretaker manager Dean Smith.
Another major player to be part of the coaching staff at this football club was Kolo Tourè. Having a fantastic career as a player with Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City. One of the finest central defenders ever to play in English football. He was at Leicester with Brendan Rodgers, spending the years from 2019 to 2023 at Leicester.
During Sven “Svennis” Goran Eriksson’s time as coach at Leicester, he included Dietmar Hamann on his coaching staff. The German international, who earned 59 caps, played for Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Man City.
Willy Caballero worked as the goalkeeper coach at Leicester during the 2023/24 promotion season under Enzo Maresca. His football career is notable, including playing for Argentina and Chelsea and being part of successful teams.
David Nish was once the most expensive transfer in English football, when he joined Derby from Leicester in 1972. A fee of £225.000 was cashed out by Brian Clough to get the player in. After his playing career, returning to Leicester to run the academy at the club. Nish was also enganged as caretaker manager for two games in December 1995, between the departure of Mark McGhee and the appointment of Martin O’Neill.
Another special was Steve Hunt. Working as coach for the Leicester academy in the 90’s. He is said to have been influencial in the development of Julian Joachim. Hunt himself was a player highly recognized for his period with New York Cosmos, playing up front and in a special partnership with Pelè.

For my generation, Don Revie, the famous manager of Leeds United and later England, will always be remembered this way, but older generations who saw him at Leicester remember him from his playing days at this football club.
Ray Graydon had a life in football, being mostly known for his winger skills at Aston Villa. He scored that winner in the 1976 League Cup final and impressed for The Villans. In February 2006, Graydon was appointed as first-team coach at Leicester by then manager Rob Kelly. He left the club at the end of the 2005–06 season.
David Mills is a player known for being transferred for a record fee in English football when Ron Atkinson at West Bromwich paid £518,000 to bring him from Middlesbrough in 1979. He has been associated with Leicester for a long time, and possibly still is, recognized highly for discovering N’Golo Kantè and Riyad Mahrez.
Billy Wright, the legendary footballer from the 50’s Wolves team, also capped 104 times for England. He also played during World War II at Leicester as a teenager before returning to Wolves.
One of the best goalscorers in World football, Ruud van Nistelrooy, was appointed manager at Leicester in November 2025. His time at Leicester was tough, seeing relegation and a massive amount of games being major defeats. He left the club after half a season, being sacked in the summer of 2025.
