Fran Vieites is no longer with Leicester. According to Leicestershire Live reporter Josh Holland, Vieites contract has been terminated. He joined the club last summer as a free agent, having earlier been with Real Betis. Vieites (27) is a good goalkeeper and at 1.96m one that have a good range. We wish Fran all the best on his future journey.
We just have to wait and see what Russell Martin will do, add another third choice, or just stay firm with Stolarczyk and McCarthy. Not the ideal situation as we feel there should be no uncertainty regarding who is your preferred first choice, that is not the case at the moment.
An earlier report suggested that Franco Ravizzoli could be on his way to Leicester. The Blackpool shotstopper appeared earlier in the week, as a potential signing for Russell Martin. Reluctant to see another experienced choice blocking a chance for a younger player to step up if needed, expected to see either Harry French or Stevie Bausor being that third alternative, only playing in emergancy situations.
Leicester are without a proper striker option at this point. Nathan Opoku is the only choice, with Liam Cullen being a alternative. Bobby De Cordova-Reid is also one being played, but in fearness far from the profile we would like to see in this position. News are that Bosnian U21 international Admir Bristric is close to signing. This is one of the major negatives seen since Russell Martin arrived, to wait so long to find those important strikers alternatives.
Leicester have been linked with different strikers: Laurent Tolaj, Dom Ballard, Elijah Adebayo, and Aribim Pepple are four names being frequently mentioned. Tolaj and Ballard have both joined Bristol City. Recent news indicates that Adebayo is no longer a trialist there, no more information about his current presence. Pepple has recently been linked with a move to Portsmouth.

Several ITK accounts have reported on the Bosnian U21 international Admir Bristric and that his move to Leicester is close, just formalities left to see this confirmed. A medical was said to be happening last Tuesday, but then knocked back with an update, saying Bristric were in Austria, waiting for a visa. No more information on this move at this point, but hopefully not another transfer ghost story ongoing. This looks far from a transfer that can be said to be ordinary, and often players with this type of profile have struggled to adapt, but as we have seen, Riyad Mahrez became a huge hit, having a similiar route of life, before joining Leicester.
Abdul Abdulmalik (23) is a non-league football attacker. He gained attention in last year’s playoffs, playing for Boreham Wood. A fast player an attractive player, previously representing Millwall at youth level. Late reports are that Leicester have placed a £3million for the player. Swedish top flight club Djurgarden has also been keen on the prospect, but their bid, believed to be in the region of £1million, has been turned down.

We hope more changes will come, but it would be great if Russell Martin can keep Harry Souttar at the club this season. There’s are squad concern, as Ben Nelson’s injury makes a gap. Kevon Gray could be that fourth defensive option. There’s no new information on Tom Wilson-Brown and his possible departure, but he could serve as a reliable fourth choice for central defense as well.
