We have been surprised about the exclusion of Nathan Opoku, but it was obvious that he was not in the plans of Russell Martin. He has now left the club as expected, based on the rumours earlier, linking him with Northampton.
The Cobblers has signed the 25 year old for an undisclosed fee.
Nathan Opoku had been given number 42, and of course this will free up space for another player to come into contention. He will join up with Logan Briggs (on loan), Elliott Moore and Joe Wormleighton who all have Leicester connections.
Opoku was on loan at Newport last season and earlier also been playing in the Belgian top flight with OH Leuven.
✍️ We are delighted to announce the signing of former Leicester City striker Nathan Opoku on a three year contract for an undisclosed fee!

We will follow up on Nathan Opoku’s career in our ex player and loan men report. He will hopefully get a chance to establish himself for The Cobblers, going down one division and again play League One football.
Opoku played in pre-season games for Leicester, scoring two in his three appearances. He has never been on the field in a competitive game for Leicester since joining in January 2023.
