Eventually it happened, Wout Faes has left Leicester. He was back in the starting line-up vs. Barnsley, possibly showing that Russell Martin have little or no say in different issues regarding the past, but in some way strange to see him lined up for his first game, and suddenly a move is happening next.
As a footballer, the first and most important rule, is to take care of yourself. You need to play, train properly and in whatever environment you are competing, you need to stretch yourself.
Wout Faes spent half of last season on loan at Monaco, comepting at the highest league level as well as taking part in Champions League action.
Faes (28) has joined UAE club Shabad Al Ahli for an undisclosed fee. They are currently third in the league and possibly a club that could fit the Belgian international at this time in his career.
He joined Leicester from Reims in 2022, and since then played a total of 136 appearances in leagee and cup. He has had a rollercoaster ride at Leicester, being part of three relegations and one promotion.

When joining Leicester from Reims he had allready made his full international debut. In November 2021, he received his first call-up to the senior Belgium national team for 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Estonia and Wales, and was an unused substitute in the latter match. Faes made his debut for Belgium on 8 June 2022 in a 6–1 win over Poland in the UEFA Nations League. To date he has played 28 times for his nation.
Wout Faes is a quality player, but since he in some way has expressed a desire to leave the club, certain fans have turned against him, but still a quality player, who did well for Leicester. He has been linked with different potential moves to other clubs in Turkey, France and England, with this move to Shabab Al Ahli a new step for him, as well as getting him off the wage bill at Leicester. It looks a good move for all parties.
