Claude Puel must strengthen his team in January, the fact that only five players are certain in their position and in the team, makes fans uncertain about Puel’s belief in the current group of players.
The Premier League is not a test labetory and to make to many changes and rotate as much as Claude has done in the games so far can’t be the ideal situation. He is surely not certain about a lot of things, and we have pointed at a number of uncertainties.
The first thing we would like to address is the fact that he cannot start to change the five that he surely have given his full confidence, then my hopes for a top finish this season will just flush out with the soap of my showers.
Kasper Schmeichel, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell, Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy are the five players that can be said are certain and always playing in their preferred positions. Wes Morgan is also one trusted and we will just wait and see if he will get his place back after returning from his “ban”. James Maddison is also playing each game, but been pushed a bit around, Gray also playing regularly but in and out of different postions.
Nampalys Mendy and Daniel Amartey together with Ricardo Pereira and Marc Albrighton are others who can be seen as fairly steady picks. But we feel that the team need more settled players at least nine men should be almost 100 % certain, when playing in the Premier League.
So Tcf would like to see a few changes coming, and hopefully those players can be persuaded to join. You need to be bold and really be able to pay good money to get those players to put straight into the team.
The first is Danish defender Andreas Christensen. Not being able to get into a Chelsea side and being a bit lost in selection after Sarri took over at Stamford Bridge. The fellow countryman of Kasper Schmeichel is one great central defender and would be an ideal partner to Harry Maguire, and at a level higher than the current crop of players at Leicester City.
Would also like to see Claude Puel going after another Chelsea player, England international, Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The 22 year old midfielder is one that would be great alongside Wilfred Ndidi, what a partnership in the heart of the City midfield. Mendy has done well, but Leicester City need three good alternatives for two positions.
The last player to be on Tcf’s list in January is Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha, who at the moment must be frustrated at Selhurst Park, not being part of a push towards the top positions in the league. Leicester City can surely compete with Everton and West Ham, who are other teams in the category looking for a player like Zaha.
This is the type of talent needed to push Leicester City further and this shelf is the one looking at, the fee of those three would probably reach almost £100 million in cost, but that is the business needed to push on towards a place in the top six.
