Leicester U23 with promising progress as West Ham are defeated away Leshabela and Eppiah back in action

The U.23’s are in good form with their latest result vs. West Ham away a certain indicator. Goals from Tawanda Maswanhise and Wanya Marcal secured a 2-1 win.

You can see that the team also have major competition with grand talents such as Alves and Braybrooke starting on the bench.

Josh Eppiah and Thakgalo Leshabela were both back in the team, Eppiah returning from injury problems not being involved since October last year. Leshabela back in since returning from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.

Both players will, any day of the week, strengthen the U.23’s as they have more experience and also have been in and around the first team squad.

Leicester fielded a strong team also being able to keep Thanawat Suengchitthawon on the bench for all 90 minutes, goalkeeper talent Brad Young also sat out the game.

Leicester fielded the following team; Stolarczyk, Dailey-Campbell, Brunt, Nelson, Spencer-Adams, Leshabela, McAteer, Ewing, Wanya Marcal, Eppiah, Maswanhise, Subs: Alves, Braybrooke, Flynn.

Leicester took an early lead after just 3 minutes, West Ham equalized after 32 and the final goal came in the 89th with Wanya Marcal being the match winner for Leicester. Leicester are 10th in the table with 22 points in 16 games.

Next for the U.23’s is an away fixture vs. Everton on the 4th of February.
