The news of Wayne Rooney joining Birmingham City as their new manager would see him come face to face with Jamie Vardy, playing each other on the 16th of December. The game will be played at St. Andrews, with the return coming up on the 6th of April next year.

Leicester are flying at the moment on top of the Championship table with Birmingham fighting good in a play-off position at present, so it will be some exciting minutes when the two teams clash and with the appointment of Wayne Rooney at Birmingham obviously giving fuel to the old feud between the two parties.

Wayne Rooney returns to English football, coming back from his recent stay at DC United, after being a manager at Derby as his starting position, doing well, despite seeing The Rams relegated. Few counted on Wayne Rooney, becoming a manager, but during his two positions so far build a good and respected reputation.

Both DC United and Derby struggled under his management time, but still and hopefully having the correct backing at Birmingham City, being joined by Ashley Cole and John O’Shea, so it will be a huge marquee setting.

Allready the games between Leicester City and Birmingham City have been joked on as “The Wagatha Christie Derby”. These two games will of course draw attention, again having a new big dimention with the two high profiled men, previously performing together for England and against each other in Premier League action.
