Leicester is said to be one of many clubs in the chase for Bodo Glimt midfielder Albert Gronbaek. Probably the best player in the Norwegian top flight, signed from AGF last year. Gronbaek knew when joining Bodo Glimt that he would be given a pivotal role in the team and so far done fantastic.
Bodo Glimt are flying in Europe and they are just crowned Norwegian champions after a fantastic 2023 campaign, still two rounds left of the season.
Bodo Glimt has, against all odds, been a club to follow over the last few seasons, winning back to back league titles in 2020 and 2021. They let a number of key players. Goalkeeper Nikita Haikin joined Bristol City, star midfielder Patrick Berg moved to Lens, left back Fredrik Bjorkan took off to Hertha Berlin and central defender Marius Lode was signed by Schalke 04.
All of them have, after just a year away, moved back to Bodo Glimt, again winning the league and really setting their high mark on the team, and with money they gained for those sales, they were able to bring in Albert Gronbaek, who can be a major sale, probably available for a fee in the region of £6million.
The rotation of players from season to season can be massive at Norwegian clubs, as they tend to sell when they see such possibilities open. Leicester are in this chase with a number of other clubs, and Albert Gronbaek will probably not move down a ladder to play in a 2nd tier club, maybe if the payment is good enough.
Another Dane at Bodo Glimt, currently on loan at Sandefjord, former Ajax player Jeppe Kjaer, is one to watch. The 19 year old is a massive talented player, born in 2004, and at present being vital for Sandefjord as they try to rurvive in the top flight with a massive 3-2 win vs. Rosenborg as their latest result. Jeppe Kjaer is a young midfielder that probably Bodo Glimt will nurse forward and see as the next major selling object.
