A new challenge and a game picture we all could predict as Leicester took on Watford at home.
Hamza Choudhury covered for Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi was back from start, Kelechi Iheanacho started, with Jamie Vardy left out and on the bench..
Leicester took command from start, but not really taking too much risk, passing the ball more backwards than forward, not being able to find the pockets to play to get some sort of penetration.
Mads Hermansen also had difficulties to find the players, with his floor passes, as he kept the ball way too long and at times it looked as he was dictating the game, not really giving Leicester much advantage.
First half produced no real chances, with a few soft attempts from Kasey McAteer and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall being stopped or going wide
A frustrating first half, but without Harry Winks this type of play looks difficult.
Enzo Maresca made two early second half substitutions, taking off Kelechi Iheanacho and Kasey McAteer, bringing on Abdul Fatawu and Jamie Vardy.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall hit the post from one attempt as Leicester came closer and closer to get that first goal, Jamie Vardy also had a massive chance to score, shooting the ball from close range high up in the stands, but just minutes later pushed the ball over the line after a massive header from Jannik Vestergaard was half saved. Leicester were 1-0 up after 76 minutes, heavilly deserved after using a lot of effort to get that first goal. Watford were finally broken down using a block tactic to try to stop Leicester.
The game was then played a bit in both halves, before Jamie Vardy was played through, in stoppage time, passed the Watford goalkeeper who clearly fouled him, as he went to the floor. A penalty given to Leicester, the Watford goalkeeper red carded, and an outfield player had to step in. Vardy converted from the penalty spot and Leicester made it a great 2-0 win in the end.
Watford defended well. A hard and difficult team to break down, as it never became smooth for Leicester, but still the tactical methods of Enzo Maresca worked again.
