Joe Worrall is just one of several defenders being linked with a move to Leicester. Worrall, the captain of neighbour Nottingham Forest, is said to have been removed from the first team squad, and expecting to leave the club in January, with of course a number of options to consider.
There are also other defenders in our list of hot, cool and cold rumours being mentioned in the gossip columns, and of course a surprise to see so many defenders being listed.
Worrall is one, Lucas Beraldi another, as the 20 year old Sao Paulo defender is said to be a target at £17million. Baraldo is a Brazil U.20 international, height; 1.86m, and to date played 35 league games for his current club.
A third player seen in the rumours linked to Leicester, is Sunderland defender Trai Hume. Hume (21) is a right back, and a Northern Ireland full international, with a past at Linfield and Bellameny in his home country.
We all know that Enzo Maresca to have great options in this area, so will Leicester make strategic changes to their squad to prepare for a new season with players currently at the club that cold seek other options.
No surprise to see a possible move for Harry Souttar in January that will of course see a position being vacant, but still just a cover. Conor Coady is a player that probably had expected more, Wout Faes was a close target for Spurs in the summer and could be a player to cash in on, but still a number of years left at the club.
Will Enzo Maresca consider selling Jannik Vestergaard and give the tall defender a sensational chance to leave the club, not yet deciding on a new contract with the club as his current deal will be out in the summer.
It will be exciting to see how this January transfer window will progress, but hopefully Leicester will do it correctly and be more competitive after the window close than they were before.
