Kelechi Iheanacho (27) is out of contract in the summer. He was seen in the rumour mill during the summer and is back there now in the January transfer window. With Nigeria still fighting in the AFCON tournament and Iheanacho involved, it could be difficult to settle a move in the January transfer window, but it could also happen.
Real Betis is said to be keen on a move and are the latest club to show interest. Crystal Palace was the chaser in the summer, but nothing happened.
With the return of Patson Daka from the AFCON, and also having Jamie Vardy and Tom Cannon as other options for the top striker position, and Kelechi Iheanacho reaching close to his end of contract, with little or no intentions yet from any parties to look at potential new deal, it will be a no brainer to let the Nigerian international leave.
Patson Daka should be the one to call for going forward as his return to the job up front was sensational, in those games played before taking part in AFCON. He is also on a long term contract and hopefully will be there also when Leicester return to the best party.
Patson Daka was also heavilly linked with a move away in the summer, almost agreeing to leave for AC Milan, but also having a belief Bournemouth could have snatched him in the late hours before the transfer window close on the 1st of September.
We certainly hope Patson Daka is back in the starting line-up for Birmingham, as he also have continued to score goals for Zambia while on international duty. He is a natural goalscorer and with him in there, chances to score goals are always highly possible.
The progress of Tom Cannon, and having Jamie Vardy as a third option, should see Kelechi Iheanacho out the door and at his moment it looks as if Real Betis is close to get him.
