Marc Albrighton was back at King Power Stadium for the opening game of the season, being on media duties, looked to enjoy himself in the role. He has earlier been interviewed at several media stations to talk about Enzo Maresca and his management style. Nothing new regarding his current status as a free agent, still without a new club at this point, and no club links to his name either.

Dennis Praet is another player who left Leicester in the summer, he is yet to decide as well. A number of interested clubs with Anderlecht seen as the front runner at this point. Praet left Leicester in the summer together with Marc Albrighton.

A bit surprised to see Tawanda Maswanhise being released by Leicester. The Zimbabwe international has signed for Motherwell in the Scottish top flight. He made his first team debut, coming on as a sub in the 1st round League Cup win vs. Kilmarnock on the 18th of August.

Darnell Johnson was seen as a player who could have taken the full step into the first team frame at Leicester, he never did, despite delivering steady performances in the development team. Johnson spent time on loan at Hibs, Wigan and Wimbledon, making his full move away from the club to Fleetwood in 2021. He made a new move in 2023, joining Forest Green, being released this summer and still not registered with a new club.

Martyn Waghorn and Liam Moore are two former ex Leicester players that was released by their clubs after last season, playing for Derby and Northampton. Both players in their 30’s, but still a lot to offer.

Vontae Daley-Campbell made his move to Chesterfield during the summer, having an impressive trial. He made his debut for his new club in a 5-0 win away to Crewe Alexandria, being on the field for 76 minutes.

Ryan Bennett, spending time on loan at Leicester a few seasons back, is also without a club, waiting for his next opportunity, being released by Cambridge in the summer. Joe Dodoo has been without a club for 18 months, being out injured and possibly not yet ready for his full comeback, still not more than 29, and hopefully he will be able to return to the game in some capacity.

Lee Peltier and Yohan Benalouane are two players both aged 37, none of them announced their retirement with status free agent. Dutch international Jeffrey Bruma is one that also is chasing for a new club after his contract ended at RKC Waalwijk after last season.

Ahmed Musa left Sivasspor last season. The Nigerian international with 109 caps for his nation is at the moment without a club as we wait for the next move by the 31 year old. No news yet regarding the next step for three released youngsters, Iestyn Hughes, Arlo Doherty and Jack Lewis.
