Depth to Equity, Official Statement, Committed Ownership?

Yesterday we commented on the clubs current situation, potential sale and all that has been written and reported in recent weeks, regarding the supposed sale of the club, brochures, etc, etc. To that point the club had not gone public with anything regarding a sales process.

We described the situation as strange and far from an expected behavioiur regarding such a major move.

Today the club came out officially with a statement telling us King Power had turned £8,5million of loans to the club, into equity. This will ease pressure, and believed to be done, according to their season budget in League One, but a very tiny amount with no real significant impact on the total depth situation.

So what did the message tell us, much of the same as we said yesterday. The statement just say that the clubs owners are backing the teams, men and women, to progress, after both suffered relegation last season. A mixed bag for the men’s first team, the women, two wins out of two.

This is more or less a status quo, and no talk about a sudden takeover, and from that move, it will not be a major change for a new owner to take into consideration.

This is mainly a move made to ease the pressure this season and if someone is preparing some sort of a sales process, this statement has nothing to do with that.

Why journalists are drawing a fairy story up, talking up certain candidates, it looks far from smart as these outlets make assumptions based on their previous gossip talk.
