Jannik Vestergaard came on as a second half sub in the final game of the World Cup qualifications vs. Scotland. A 2-4 defeat in the end as Scotland are through to the finals. Kasper Schmeichel played the full game for Denmark. Mads Hermansen was an unused sub on the day. In the previous game in the qualification vs. Belarus, Jannik Vestergaard was in the starting line-up together with Kasper Schmeichel. Mads Hermansen was an unusued sub for the game as well.
Graham Potter had to see a heavy defeat in his first game as boss for Sweden. They were defeated 1-4 away to Switzerland. Viktor Johansson had no luck in goal and was dropped for the next match, a 1-1 draw away to Slovenia.
Louis Page came on as a second half sub when England were defeated 0-4 to Austria. A surprise result. Jake Evans was an unused sub. in the prior game, a 2-0 win vs. South Korea, Page played from start, Evans not involved here either. The two Leicester England players together with Will Daniels, who has represented Canada, are now out of the tournament.
Jordan James scored the winner for Wales in their 1-0 home win vs. Liechtenstein. He also received a yellow card which ment he was suspended for the game vs. North Macedonia, ending in a super 7-1 win to The Dragons.
Youri Tielemans and Timothy Castagne were both in the starting line-up for Belgium when the defeated Liechtenstein 7-0 at home. Timothy Castagne played from start in the previous game, a 1-1 draw vs. Kazakhstan.
Caglar Soyuncu was in the Turkey team from start when they managed a 2-2 draw away to Spain.
Hamza Choudhury scored both goals when Bangladesh drew 2-2 vs. Nepal. Choudhury was also in the team yesterday when Bangladesh defeated India 1-0 at home. Andrej Kramaric came on as a sub when Crotia defeated Montenegro 2-3 away. He was playing from start in the prior game vs. Faroe Islands, winning 3-1 at home.
N’Golo Kantè had a stunning return to the France team when they defeated Ukraine 4-0 at home. He was not involved and an unused sub in the next game, played on the 17th of November vs. Azerbaijan. The game ended 3-1 win to France.
Harry Kane scored both goals when England defeated Albania 2-0 away. He was also captaining the team when they defeated Serbia with the same result a few days earlier.
Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey and Ademola Lookman were all in the starting line-up for Nigeria when they defeated Gabon 4-1 at home. All three were also featuring vs. Congo, playing 1-1 at full time, but losing 4-3 on penalties. With these results Nigeria will not feature in the World Cup next year.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid played from start for Jamaica in their 1-1 away draw to Trinidad and Tobago. Demarai Gray also in that starting line-up. A frustrating 0-0 draw vs. Curacao, with both Reid and Gray involved, made it clear Jamaica now will have to compete in the play-off’s to get to the World Cup.
Jeremy Monga was named in the squad for 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification games against Lithuania, Latvia and Scotland, played 12–18 November. He was not involved vs. Lithuana (2-0), came in as sub vs. Latvia (7-0) and vs. Scotland (4-0). Great to see Jeremy Monga involved and contributing at this level, must remember he is just 16 years of age.
Darren Motsi was named in the squad for England U16 games against Wales, Turkey and Portugal, to be played between 30 October and 4 November 2025. He came on as a sub vs. Portugal (1-2), He started in the 2-3 loss vs. Turkey and was not involved when they played Wales, winning 5-1.
Bade Aluko came on as a second half sub when England U20 drew 1-1 with Japan last Friday. Chris Popov was called up for Wales U21 in the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group I match against Belarus on 14 November. Popov played from start in the 0-3 defeat.
Bilal El Khannouss was called up for Morocco friendlies against Mozambique and Uganda on 14 and 18 November. He came on as a sub vs. Mozambique, the game ended in a 1-0 win for Morocco. He also started on the bench in the 4-0 win vs. Uganda, scoring the fourth goal for his nation.
Tawanda Maswanhise started for Zimbabwe in their 3-1 away defeat to Algeria. Riyad Mahrez was an unused sub for the Desert Foxes. Mahrez captained and scored for his Algeria in the friendly vs. Saudi Arabia. Algeria won the game 2-0.
