Michail Antonio move potentially on hold as other deals and urgent situation must be solved

Leicester were reported to be on the verge of signing Michail Antonio. The player has been training with the club for a while. However, there is still no solution or deal made between the two parties.

Leicester are waiting for the outcome of their PSR hearing. Leicester might face a points deduction. As a result, the club will have to be careful with any type of negotiations with new players.

The other fact to consider is the form and condition of the Jamaica international. He has been out of regular football for almost a year. At 35, switching on again and returning to normal, might not be easy.

The outcome of player sales can be difficult as well. Wout Faes, Bouba Soumare and Harry Winks are three players that could move on this January. The problem at this point is that the player needs to secure a functional deal. These three are players with a reputation. They are looking for the best option possible and will not sign for anyone just to get out of Leicester.

There are several names mentioned by journalists as potential players to sign. However, there is no indication Leicester will be trying to make a deal for any of them. Hopefully they are not, as these players mentioned would not bring the quality needed.

Certain fans tend to believe that every name mentioned is better than what the club has at the moment. However, in the competitive environment of The Championship, things are not that easy.

There are no names we do believe Leicester are front runners on at the moment. They also have too many uncertainties inside the squad to do much. Marti Cifuentes has to get players shipped out before he signs new players.

Harry Souttar is currently out injured, believed to return soon. He is back in training. This is a quality player at Championship level, doing well at Sheffield United last season, before getting injured.

It is a very difficult time at the moment. The situation is far from ideal. Hopefully, one or two new players could be coming in. Michail Antonio looks to be one move dragging out. To train with the club is far from being signed. At the age of 35, we are far from certain what the aim and purpose will be.
