Leicester’s Struggles: Analyzing Current Challenges

Festive period and soon a new year arriving. Leicester are on a difficult path at the moment, but still some good signs on the horizon. The game vs. Watford was of course a must win, but all in all it shows that there are positives to look at. Leicester took an early lead. They were the dominant team. There are clear indications that the manager has pinpointed the important dilemma.

Certain fans are always sad and angry when a result is going against and they start to spray fire. They are looking at everything negative and do like to burn down the stadium or whatever.

Going back to the days when the helicopter arrived at games, it was surely not happening at every home game. The Thai family was not always present, but at the moment some demand Top to be there all the time.

When a result is going against, the same fans demand a sale or having the manager thrown out the window. They are angry, of course they are, using good money to watch their favourite team losing.

There are a lot of issues to be solved. However, the strategy of throwing managers out every time a result goes against is very stupid. We have said that Marti Cifuentes needs at least the January transfer window to get a few things sorted.

Marti Cifuentes has pinpointed the problem. This is not something you can just fix with a manager sack. A quick dressing room speech will not resolve it either. We have seen a lot being blamed on Jon Rudkin, Top has also got his share.

What has to be addressed is the reason for the downfall. Why do players not respond to different managers? Why does the club look to have little or no masterplan on how to be the best Leicester possible?

Sunderland and Crystal Palace are two role models at the moment. Bournemouth and Brighton are other clubs doing a lot of things correctly at the moment. It is all about structure and a group of players doing things correctly.

Leicester are out of balance, as Marti Cifuentes has pinpointed. They are having problems in all these chains and relations. These issues are crucial for building a winning group. Jordan James is a player on loan, taking too much of the burden. Other players need to perform better. They should take more responsibility. They do not know if they will play at Leicester after this January window or next season.

Oliver Skipp has shown promise to become a leader in this team. He has been on a rollercoaster ride since arriving at the club. Being in and out of the first team. Still far from his best level as consistency is a key word. He will have a few bad games in this season. So can Marti Cifuentes trust him to become a certain player in his line-up.

There are so many questions to be asked and problems to solved, that we feel no real answer can be given at this time. Leicester are in transition, but sadly at the moment, no real moment is there to see.

There are a number of issues to be solved, but i am afraid this season will be one very disappointing. With great luck a play-off positions can be reached. A midtable finish looks more likely. The manager needs his time to be able to sort out the current issues, some of them are not his job at all. But quick moves, without thinking and just throw fire around and burn up everything, looks the less likely.
