No confirmation on Leicester’s next manager. The situation is still in the air. According to sources close to the club, they are moving on as interviews are ongoing and prepared. Gary Rowett mentioned in interviews in and around the Blackburn match that he is interested in the position, but he seems unlikely to be the Leicester manager next season. Yesterday, he appeared as part of the Sky Sports panel for the Championship play-off game between Millwall and Hull. He was out there in his special role, strange to see, interviewing Hull manager Sergej Jakirović.
The list of manager candidates is similar to last week. Darren Ferguson remains the top favorite, with Chris Davies and Russell Martin as the only serious contenders. Christian Fuchs is still mentioned, but is considered not ready for this role. Scott Parker is suggested as a good option, but he is low on the list and seen as a difficult catch.
The names at the top don’t seem to fit Leicester’s needs. Russell Martin shouldn’t be dismissed; he’s currently the third favorite. However, his focus on possession may not be ideal. He helped Southampton reach the top tier, but his first Premier League season was challenging and lost his job. This season, he became the manager at Rangers but didn’t make an impact, leading to his dismissal after a few months.
Chris Davies previously worked at Leicester with Brendan Rodgers. He is currently the manager at Birmingham, and it would be surprising to see him move down a league and Leicester paying compensation. Some think he might leave The Blues this summer, but for now, he is in charge. It looks unrealistic to expect Leicester to wait for a manager to be sacked before pursuing him.

The names in the odds list is also full of people that are linked with other managerless clubs. Could there be other candidates? Talks are on going and according to sources close to the club, people are getting interviewed at this point.
Lincoln manager Robert Scubala is a man in demand. He has done a fantastic job with the Red Imps, and has been mentioned for the Leicester position. He is currently a favourite to take over at Bristol City.
Looking at talk from media outlets and from other sources not seen as a Leicester insider, fan or pundit, this is regarded as a high value job. A great opportunity for a type or profile that is young, adspiring and a fresh face.
Early on we mentioned Will Still as a potential candidate for the job. He is currently vacant, so is his brother Edward, who recently stepped down as manager at Watford. The third brother, Nicolas Still, is currently the assistant manager of FC Brugge.
Will, Edward, and Nicolas Still has earlier worked together in football management. They were together at RC Lens (2024–2025): Will became the manager of Ligue 1 side RC Lens in June 2024, he made it a condition of his contract that he would be joined by his brothers, Edward and Nicolas, on his coaching staff. This brother dynamics is a special one. Will has generally been the lead manager, Edward has acted as an assistant and also managed teams in the Belgian Pro League (Charleroi, Eupen, Kortryk). The youngest brother, Nicolas, has worked as a video analyst and assistant coach for his brothers, as well as with other managers. While they have collaborated, they have also held separate roles, with Edward taking on the head coach position at Championship side Watford in February 2026. They are known as an English-speaking, Anglo-Belgian family who moved into coaching.
Will Still is on the odds list, but low ranked, only on 33/1.
