Leicester looks to have hired their next manager. Russell Martin to be announced in the next 24 to 48 hours. The club have acted quickly this time, and that has been something fans have hurried. We believe this can work out as a great appointment. Leicester must play with possession and belief to be the leading team in most games this season.

In the past Leicester has hired a variety of managers with different styles. The club’s ownership of past and present has made surprising decisions to find the right person to lead them to success. This time it looks as if they are acting on one type of direction. The return to higher possession style must be ideal. This might be the perfect timing for both Russell Martin and Leicester.

Another man being linked with the vacant position at Leicester was Michael Skubala. Shocking and surprised to see him leaving Lincoln to join Bristol City. Lincoln has acted quickly to appoint Tom Shaw and Chris Cohen in a joint management model. We have seen this in the past at other clubs as well. A number of years back Liverpool had this model with Gerhard Houllier and Roy Evans. In Scandinavia we have other examples, as last years league winner in Norway, Viking, has this model in place with special effect and fantastic results.

Enzo Maresca was an unexpected choice that surprised everyone and wasn’t listed by the bookies. He had a strong starting point when he joined, as the team and squad were ready with qualities to make a quick return to the top level. This time, things are very different. The team is made up of various management styles, and shaping this in a few months will be a big challenge for anyone taking the job.

It this is not materilizing or something comes up to stop the appointment, we have seen in the past Leicester being linked with a number of names.

A variety of names are suggested by bookies, experts, and journalists hoping to guess correctly. Our favorite was Scott Parker, but he looks out of the picture at this time. Sean Dyche is another good choice, but he likely has his sights set on more appealing managerial openings.

Glad to see Nigel Pearson not considered. He is often suggested for this vacant position, but I would avoid him as he struggles under pressure and rarely improves a bad situation. He can be aggressive and build a strange atmosphere. NP performs well only when conditions suit him. He has already been dismissed by the Leicester owners three times, so bringing him back now would be odd. People tend to overlook that he stepped down from his managerial role at OH Leuven as well as his two stints at Leicester.

We admire Ian Holloway, but after hearing players discuss his leadership and motivational speeches, we prefer someone else. He has succeeded at Swindon, and his work at Blackpool and Plymouth was commendable, but suggestions he danced naked on a table might not be suitable at Seagrave. He has not been linked with the vacant manager position this time, but potentially on a list, would rule him out.

Christian Fuchs is back at Leicester today for the aniversery game. He is currently the manager of Newport County. Fuchs took over the team during a tough season when they were in the relegation zone, but he successfully helped them stay in the league with a strong finish. But his not very experienced and have no previous background from a promotion run a league above, we doubt Leicester will be see him as a candidate this time.

Russell Martin is a sought-after manager, with Championship clubs Blackburn and Watford interested in him. His first months at Southampton, along with his time at Swansea and MK Dons, shows he could be a solid choice. Although his time in the Premier League with The Saints and in Scotland with Rangers, was challenging, he remains a viable option. Leicester has reportedly made him a lucrative offer.

Former Leicester player Mark Robins is currently in charge at Stoke a level above. We will be surprised to see him drop down a division, so ruling him out. The same with Chris Davies, currently the manager at Birmingham, with no indications, he is leaving at this point.

According to bookies the favourite at this point is still Darren Ferguson, but a current movement shows Russell Martin on the same level. For several weeks, it looked as if this list was a frozen one, with no movement among those names being linked. Today though changes has occured.

In a recent report from FLW they more or less confirm that Gary Rowett is finished. He will not be the Leicester manager next season. We believe news will come forward after the 1st of June, believing GR had a contract length stretched on and into June for that happening to have finished.

Here we go, Russell Martin looks to be the next Leicester manager.
