As reported by many outlets and different correspondents, and also here at this website, news are now finally confirmed regarding Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy. Both have signed for Leicester. Good to see these two new additions. Two very experienced footballers with a long life in the game. Both fits the profile of players needed at this point.
Conor Chaplin played last season at Portsmouth on loan from Ipswich. He has a previous life at Portsmouth, Barnsley, Covenry and Ipswich, being influential in two straight promotions for The Tractor Boys.
Will be interesting to see what role Chaplin will play at Leicester, he can do a lot of different jobs in the attacking area of the field, being a player known for scoring goals and having an engine few can match at this level. The 29 year old has signed a three year deal.
Alex McCarthy, 36 years old, has had a long career in football, primarily with Southampton, where he has played for the past 10 years. He made 144 league appearances for the club and has one cap for England, which he earned in a friendly match against the USA in 2018.
We can confirm that a mutual agreement has been reached with Jannik Vestergaard for the termination of his contract.

As we reported a while ago, and breaking the story about Jannik Vestergaard and his absence from pre-season training. It was nice to finally see the news about his termination. He had a hot and cold relationship with fans, different managers, but still at his best, showing how skilled he was and why he has been capped 59 times at full international level for Denmark. A brilliant distributer of the ball, but his positioning and lack of pace, will always see him being cought out at times.
