A lot of changes to the squad of the women team this season. Travelling to Sheffield United for their opening game. Leicester hierarchy kept faith in team manager Rick Passmoor as he got the chance to continue in his job.
Leicester came home with a 1-0 win from the match vs. Sheffield United to pin a perfect start. The goal scored in the 55th minute, not seeing a Leicester player on the scoresheet, it was an own goal by The Blades defender Lean Cowen.
Leicester had 61% ball possession as they dominated the game, but only 3 shots on target. It is always difficult to play against a major defence, but luckily finding the goal that one time, to win this very important game. 3 points on board.
Leicester lining up in a 4-5-1 structure, overloading the midfield area, having Paulina Nystrom up front. According to reports, new signing Jessie Stapleton was the best player on the field.

Leicester will play Durnham at home in their next fixture, coming up on the 13th of September. This Leicester team looked well balanced, still having a few familiar faces in the line-up such as Missy Goodwin, Hannah Cain and Asmita Ale, all part of the Leicester set up for a while.
