No new signings by Leicester City so far, and TCF believe that it will not be a big change of personal at the club. Danny Simpson and Shinji Okazaki are the two wh are confirmed out so far, no one in, and we are waiting with excitement on a new name turning up.
A number of clubs have done business with Aston Villa among those. Jota is in from Birmingham and in that swap deal Gary Gardner went the opposite way. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed Daniel James from Swansea. Eden Hazard unsurprisingly left Chelsea for Real Madrid. A number of released players are the only news around from the Premier League, the rest looks as a lot of speculations.
Real Madrid is a major factor in the rolling of transfers and with them already done four deals, you might not expect much more from the Spaniards. Luka Jovic and Eder Militao are both signed together with Hazard, bringing their transfers spendings to a total of £200million allready. They are also seeing a number of players returning from loan spells and splashed out £40million on Brazilian Rodrygo in January.
The name Ivan Perisic turned up yesterday as a possible Leicester City signing, would rule him in the same picture as Arjen Robben. Perisic is also linked with Manchester United. But the most truly rumor is that Perisic has a future at Inter and will stay on and be part of the new set up under Antonio Conte.
The rumor turned up as part of a supposed Romelu Lukaku move to Inter, something we believe will not happen as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks certain to try to keep one of his key players.
Daniel Sturridge is not only linked with Leicester City and he could end up in the MLS as he looks for a move to a new challenge and living abroad. Toronto FC is mentioned as a possible new club for the former Liverpool forward currently available on a free.
Youri Tielemans is a main target for Leicester and TCF believe that a transfer might be close, with also Manchester United and Tottenham mentioned as a possible new destination, also at several places suggested as a possible target for Manchester City also, but the instant message from Tielemans is that he wants to play an important part and be a key player, then Leicester City is the only option. The problem for Leicester is to be able to cash out £40million, without any sales happening at the same time. Financial fair play will act as a big problem for Leicester City if they are not able to bring balance in their financial situation and needs selling players for almost the same figure to not be in problems with the fair-play rules.
Andros Townsend looks as a good target as no other club is reported to be after him, and that is a reason that TCF believe in this rumor. The fee is also affordable and would not make any problems without selling first, but Brendan Rodgers would of course like to see moves for Fousseni Diabate and Islam Slimani done as they will bring in cash surely needed to fund signings coming in.
Arjen Robben is a rumor that want go away, being a player available on a free. PSV Eindhoven are another club linked as well as stories telling us that Robben could even consider a retirement. This is also a likely move as there are now transfer fee involved and still on the board, despite Leicester Mercury believing this is not really going to happen.
Ismaila Sarr is also a close target for Arsenal, an with all the “French” connections at The Emirates, Leicester looks behind in that possible £25million move, as other players might be considered first. Lyon star Bertrand Traore is also linked with Everton, and would not see him first name on Brendan Rodgers wish list.
There are a number of names and you can look them up at our hot, cool and cold list, which is changing day by day as rumors appear and disappear. Three players from Serie A that might be of the hook are Stephan El-Shaarawy (Roma), Hakan Calhanoglu (AC Milan) and Andre Petagna (Atalanta).
Petagna is reported to be a target for Atletico Madrid, which in a way makes it a difficult battle. But the price is affordable, in the region of £15million. Stephan El-Shaarawy could be an ideal signing, but competition from Juventus and a possible new deal coming through might stop any attempt from Leicester City. Hakan Calhanoglu says he would like to stay at AC Milan, and if a move is on, the English team considered as a possible place to go is West Ham United, not Leicester City.
Patrick Roberts has been described as a target but will play for Norwich City next season. A possible new approach for Adnan Januzai looks like a dead link as well. Jay Rodriguez from West Bromwich is more likely to join another club where he is going to play a part in the first team, with both Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy at Leicester that looks a dead option as well.
So what about James Justin, will he join Leicester City? he will get a very good contract at Leicester City by leaving Luton Town, but if he can both get a lucrative deal at a Premier League club and at the same time play week in and week out in the first team he might be a more suitable target for other clubs and in those we would think Sheffield United, Norwich City and Aston Villa are better options.
