The two players that have been linked with moves away from Leicester recently are both waiting for that final call as we just need the rot to stop. Brendan Rodgers has during his days at Leicester been associated with constant rumours about his best players leaving.
He has in some way managed to close the gaps with cleverly working his way between squad development, new signings and fantastically nursed forward talents from the academy seeing the likes of Ben Chilwell, Hamza Choudhury and Harvey Barnes growing into top first team players.
Luke Thomas and Ben Nelson together with Tanawat Maswanhise looks as if they will be next in line to just continue this fantastic work done in this way. The signing of Patson Dake and Bouba Soumare could also work wonders as the two are young players ready to floursih.
Kamal Sowah is silently also making his mark together with yesterdays goalscorer Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall so why worry. As TCF have said earlier Filip Benkovic is a player that can grow into one of the finest central defenders in the Premier League if getting the chance to shine.
When coming with bold statements about younger players, unproven players and saying they can be this and that, then those grumpy experts are touting their say, and just want a new signing to come in and that easy fix is always the answer, but we will hopefully keep the players that loves to play for Leicester.Embed from Getty Images
The key question is?, will Leicester agree to sale of either Youri Tielemans or James Maddison, hopefully not both players will be on their way out, as we are waiting for that signature of the Belgian international to get the rumours disappearing.
So could it be possible to keep both Maddison and Tielemans, of course that is possible, if Hamza Choudhury, Dennis Praet and Ayoze Perez all are sold over the summer, but that trio will probably not give more than in the region of £40million, but again that would be money to use on a new central defender.
The key question in all of this is the business side of football, how to get the money needed to keep the boat floating and at the same time when will Leicester sit down and be ready to fly without selling their best players, when will that day come, hopefully soon as Brendan Rodgers cannot continue to be pushed and demanded to actually do the magic he has been able to do.Embed from Getty Images
James Maddison is not a major concern has his contract is running until 2024, but with Tielemans, just two years left of his current deal, the matter must be closed. The business side of selling and buying footballers will always be a key point in the development of the financial side of this football club. The mix of these elements will of course upset fans as they tend to believe that we do not need to sell, maybe not, but for business people, as we all know the Thai owners are, they will always look at their investments with a clever hand.
If Tielemans decides to just refuse to sign a new deal, the fee will go down and Liverpool will surely get their man for around £50million, with James Maddison staying on at least for the time being, to see both players leave would be a big surprise and don’t believe that will happen.
The fact that Everton are interested in Ayoze Perez and Hamza Choudhury is heavily linked with Newcastle is no secret either, so we just have to wait and see how this will proceed.
Exciting to see how many changes we will see happening before the season kicks off. Burnley and Norwich is said to be in there for the signature of Choudhury as well, and if Burnley get their man, could that open the door for James Tarkowski?
