First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin, with issues to solve as Premier League life again appaer for Leicester

Back in 2013/14, Leicester made their return to the Premier League after 10 years absent, winning The Championship with 102 points, 9 points in front of Burnley. Nigel Pearson guided Leicester to a safe and solid promotion with a team of players of a good blend.

Leicester could have reached 102 points this season without those slip-up’s against lower ranked teams such as Plymouth and QPR. With three more points vs. Blackburn in that last game you will see 100 points gained, but at this time in life, we are just happy to see Leicester returning to Premier League as Champions.

A life in Premier League is so much more, this is the best league on earth. To be part of that party is such a fantastic feeling. When you have tasted what Leicester fans have tasted, we will of course have that as a benchmark.

The major question is? Will it happen again, will it be possible to return to the clouds we have been on in recent seasons. Playing in Europe, winning FA Cup’s, have a new challenge on the Premier League title. Not to forget, reaching the quarter finals of Champions League and the semi final of the Conference League.

As a grand collector of music and often listening to those great lyrics and songs of the past, Leonard Cohen and his; “First we take Manhatten, then we take Berlin”, becomes one summing around in my head, as a mirror of the past and how Leicester made everything possible.

On previous returns to the top flight, we have seen different approaches regarding squad logistics, but never experienced a fire sale of players and several leaving due to contract situations and free agent status. Hopefully this will be possible to balance out in the best way possible.

What we experienced vs. Preston was the perfection of Enzoball. Playing with loads of possession and scoring three goals with a couple of other 100% chances spoiled. Pushing Wout Faes out left, gives this team another dimention and it also makes the partnership between Conor Coady and Jannik Vestergaard one special and concrete unit.

TFC is in no way asking or hoping for a change in management at Leicester. The job now is to have a pragmatic approach and hopefully be able to work on everything as this group of players becomes stronger and stronger. The talk of a new contract for Enzo Maresca and of course building on the positives of this season, will certainly be the way forward.

Burnley returned to Premier League last season as champions, but has struggled heavily this season to adjust their play with a great number of changes done. Hopefully we will see a progression without a full roll over.

Leicester fans might have to have a bit of realism to their demands for next season, but TCF certainly believe that taking the step back to become a top 10 side must be the ultimate challenge.

Leicester are the most winning club of the 2nd, bringing home the title 8th times, one more than Man City.

There are of course many issues to solve. One is to get players who are out of contract to sign a new one. Jamie Vardy, Jannik Vestergaard and Wilfred Ndidi should be the priority.

The fact that Leicester need to sell players to balance the books and getting funds to buy, makes it very interesting to see what happens to the home ground players and especially Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who might be the major asset to sell, but will it be acceptable for the highly rated midfielder making a move to Fulham, Brentford or Brighton, as they are said to be the front runners.

There are still very early days regarding new players coming in, but if you are eager to have a look on targets and updates, of course look up our hot, cool and cold update, always with the all the latest rumours in.
