Leicester were during the summer linked with a move for Stefan de Vrij who was Virgil van Dijk’s partner in tne Dutch central defense this evening v. Norway. Norway took the lead with their super forward Erling Braut Haaland. Haaland tested de Vrij during all 90 minutes and could have scored more, hitting the post on one occasion with the Inter central defender totally out of reach.
After the game Haaland said he tried to stay away from van Dijk and just push towards de Vrij to be able to win against the weaker link in that defense with Norway close to a sensational win v. Holland. The qualification group is still very open with Caglar Soyuncu’s Turkey top of the lot drawing 2-2 with Soyuncu sitting the game out due to Covid 19 restriction rules, can be playing games during the international break in non-red countries.
