Simonas Stankevicius spent five years at Leicester before making his move back to Lithuania as he signed for Zalgiris. He never played in the Leicester first team but added up a good tally of games for the development team and in the academy during his time at the club from 2011 to 2016.

He also spent time on loan at Nuneaton and Oldham during his days at Leicester. The former Bristol City defender Vegard Hansen did sign Stankevicius for Mjondalen back in 2017, but injuries stopped further progress as the Lithuainien international moved out of professional football.

Vegard Hansen was actually the second-longest serving manager in the world before he left Mjøndalen after almost 17 years in service. 6.155 days in charge, 551 games played.

His record is tremendous and to see him sacked was a shock for his players and will most certainly see the end of a very special era of great progress at this football club. Mjondalen have in recent years fought above their weight and with special work from Vegard Hansen and his many signings from different places around on the planet as one from Leicester actually played under him.

Former Peterhead and Hibernian midfielder Kevin Nicol has taken interim charge as he is pushed up from his assistant role. Nicol was signed by Vegard Hansen in 2009 and spent a season at the club before moving on to other clubs in Norwegian football.

Vegard Hansen played 37 league games for Bristol City from 1994 to 1996. He has also played for a long range of Norwegian clubs when taking up the job as player coach / manager at Mjondalen in 2006. then a club at the fourth level.
