James Maddison has not been involved in any games, but at present the only Leicester player left in the World Cup. Papy Mendy played the full game for Senegal. England had no worries in the game itself and hammered their way into the quarter finals with a grand 3-0 win. Harry Kane and Harry Maguire played in the game for England. Kane scored his first goal in the World Cup as he found the net in the 45+3rd minute.
Andrej Kramaric stared for Croatia in their full time draw vs. Japan. He had left the field when penalty shoot outs had to decide the result in the end as the Croatian goalkeeper Dominic Livakovic showed his abiltiy to save penalty shots. Croatia will face Brazil in the quarters as they won the penalty shoot outs and are through.
Kasper Schmeichel and Denmark never made it to the knock out rounds with a dissappointing and terrible result vs. Australia losing 1-0 and ending rock bottom of their group. Daniel Amartey and his Ghana also stumbled as they never got out of the group stages with a 0-2 defeat to Uruguay.
Danny Ward got his chance to play in the World Cup, replacing a red carded Wayne Hennessey against Iran and later being chosen for the starting eleven vs. England. He had to pick out five balls from the net in the two games, as Wales was defeated 2-0 vs. Iran and later losing 3-0 to England.
Belgium with three Leicester players in the squad made no success in the World Cup as they also had to see themselves knocked out in the group stages. Wout Faes was not given a minute to play, while Youri Tielemans and Timothy Castagne did play all three games for their country.
England are through to the quarter finals facing France. James Maddison is still an unused player for England, but hopefully a chance will come for the Leicester midfielder as we are of course happy to see the two former foxes Maguire and Kane being key players for their country.
Andrej Kramaric is the fourth “fox” to still be involed.
