Leicester were up against the bottom team and Enzo Maresca decided to make changes. Starts were given to Casadei, Yunus, Coady, Fatawu, Vardy and Winks, coming in for Dewsbury-Hall, Ndidi, McAteer, Justin, Iheanacho and Choudhury.
The balance was of course something to address as everything looked far from controlled. A number of massive errors from Leicester players, in the start of the game, could have seen Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 up early on, but The Owls showed, with style, why they are bottom of the table, missing those massive opportunities.
Leicester took more and more command as the first half continued, especially out wide, with Mavadidi and Fatawu showing their talent and strength, but still not full penetration, with too many back and square passes.
The same pattern of play, with loads of passes in your own half, trying to lure opponent players, but with the last pass being just one in panick, you will get no result from this approach.
Then Stephy Mavididi made the most out of a chance getting forward and in front of his opponent out left, making a pass into the penalty area, getting away from Casadei and finding Fatawu as he makes a brilliant finish, Leicester are 1-0 up after 23 minutes.
Despite thaking the lead, Leicester never really managed to controll anything. Sheffield Wednesday kept fighting and a bit troublesome, never giving away anything, so lucky to see Leicester leading with that one goal first half.
The fact that Enzo Maresca had done all this changes, he never hit the target this evening, seeing Wout Faes also leaving the field after the first half. James Justin came in and Leicester were back in a traditional four men back four, pushing Conor Coady into the central defence with Jannik Vestergaard.
A number of changes done after 70 minutes, still 1-0 up. Dewsbury-Hall, Ndidi and McAteer came in for Casadei, Yunus and Fatawu. It looked ever so promising as this trio took controll and pushed on getting the Leicester team higher in the field and closing in on that second goal.
A number of good half chances came around, with Kasey McAteer probably being the closest, but in some way not getting his foot right when trying to finish from a nice Jamie Vardy assist.
Hamza Choudhury replaced Ricardo Pereira after 87 minutes.
Sheffield Wednesday did not give up and with a sloppy and terrible decision making from Leicester in their own penalty area, sub Jeff Hendrick, made the most out of his chance, scoring from close range 3 minutes into stoppage time. Leicester pushed for a late win, with a nice free kick from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall finding Jannik Vestergaard inside the penalty area, but a lucky Sheffield Wednesday defender kicked it out from the goal line.
This was two points lost and the form of this team is in decline, the way of play is idiotic, and if this continues more points will be lost going forward, but hopefully Enzo Maresca will soon understand how important this promotion push is, and he will not be saved, if performances like this continues.

- Playing Vardy 90 minutes plus, to get the best out of him, you need to give him full games
- Negatives
- This is a shame to watch, looks like a horror show and the purpose of football looks gone
- Hermansen too much involved in the game, playing backwards too much
- This style of play makes no sence, especially when you can’t put games to bed or keep a lead
- The plan and play under Enzo Maresca should be questioned hard, this is close to disaster, if you look at the outcome against a terrible team, you should not throw away minutes in your own half and not push for goals and play with higher risk, terrible
- Not playing Dewsbury-Hall from start, he could have won Leicester the game, given all minutes
- Possession leading to nothing, no penetration, this is no good
- Worst performance of the season, sorry, this is not the way forward
- Leicester left it late at home to Watford, and this time it never happened, this cannot continue if Leicester are to finish in the top two, this way of play is not the solution going forward, sorry
