Ademola Lookman yesterday showed his class in the final of Europa League, scoring all three goals for Atalanta in their 3-0 battering of German Bundesliga winner Bayer Leverkusen. With just 33% posession they counter attacked in a style and class of magic. Ademola Lookman played the 2021/22 season on loan at Leicester and was close to sign, but instead, he moved to Atalanta, were he has been a special addition.
Leicester is likely to let defender Lewis Brunt leave the club with a fee and contract offer coming from Mansfield. Brunt (23) had a very successful loan spell with The Stags last season, helping them to promotion, playing 34 league games, scoring 2 goals.
Victor Kristiansen was in action for Bologna in their 3-3 draw at home to Juventus. One game left of the season, being a great success for both player and club as he has played 32 league games so far 3rd in the table. Kristiansen and his Bologna will visit Genoa tomorrow in the last game of the season. Kristiansen (21) is believed to be keen on a stay in Serie A, but also Leicester having few alternatives on that left back position, not to be surprised if he returns and will play for Leicester in Premier League next season.
Claudio Ranieri did a brilliant job at Cagliari, last season taking back to Serie A, and in this campaign manage a survival. Lovely to see him finishing on a high and at 72 years of age it might be the correct time to leave the game and enjoy other parts of life. He will for always be a magic man for Leicester fans, always. He also done fantastic in other clubs, and his nature and approach is one to look for in a football manager.
Cedric Kipre scored the goal for West Bromwich in the play-off semi, but it was too late to get any influence on the outcome, Southampton had allready scored 3 and was well on their way to Wembley, where they will face Leeds in that final showdown to decide who will be playing in Premier League next season.
Robbie Neilson played for Leicester from 2009 to 2011, and his since moved into management with Hearts twice, Dundee United and since November last year been the head coach of Tampa Bay Rowdies, currently playing in the 2nd tier of US football. Tampa is currently 5th in their league and out of the cup after 1-2 defeat vs. FC Dallas in a game played today.
Leicester decided to give Zach Booth a chance to play on loan at Volendam. Booth (20) played 27 league games and scored 2 goals during his stay in Eresdivisi. Unfortunately Volendam were relegated but probably good learning and growing on such a chance to play first team football. It will be interesting to follow the progress of the American as his next step could be a new loan spell somewhere. Booth came on in the 73rd minute for Volendam in their 1-2 home defeat vs. Go Ahead.
Sevilla will take on Barcelona at home in their last game of the season, coming up on the 26th of may, this could be the last game also for Bouba Soumare, who was suspended in the previous game vs. Atletic Bilbao, hopefully coming back to help his team in the last game of the season.
