Steve Cooper is back in as the favourite to land the Leicester manager job. He has been in talks and all the way said to have shown the spirit and eager to land this position.
Recent news regarding Harry Potter, not willing to put pen to paper, makes it obvious that his mind might be elswehere and then to get a man in that is strongly motivated and also highly qualified must be seen as a major positive.
Steve Cooper will, if not another twist or turn appear, be the next manager of Leicester. His background can be compared to Brendan Rodgers, having a life in coaching from a young age, and not getting into this profession from a glorious playing career. The learning of the trade has happened in steps from coaching the best talents at youth level, being in work at Liverpool and for England.
Looking at his Liverpool link, Leicester have a past of hiring Anfield men as managers, mentioning Tom Bromilow, Gordon Milne and Brendan Rodgers as they all came to Leicester with a bag full of memories from this club, using that experience to build on.
Steve Cooper will be an interesting appointment. He will also come to this job, with his recent past being at Forest, but as we have seen, looking at previous players, managers and assistants, with that link included; it turned out to become a fantastic love affair. We all, of course, do see Wes Morgan, Martin O’Neill and John Robertson as our own.
