Last summer Leicester appointed Man City assistant Enzo Maresca, with no proven record as a first team manager, having just a few months experience in the position from his short spell at Parma.

To see an experienced head coming in will in no way be a wrong decision. Leicester had Steve Cooper on the radar from day one, seeing him as one of the front runners almost minutes after Enzo Maresca left.

Steve Cooper will come into this job with his time at Forest and Swansea as experience from a similar position. His track record at both clubs are enough to do this job properly.

His past as a Youth World Cup winner with England, coaching that exciting team to the title, makes his background very interesting and full of special experience.

Will be interesting to see what will happen in the transfer market. We will also be following the outcome of the coaching staff appointments, as a full group of new people will be hired.

Looking into the past, Matt Gillies, Martin O’Neill, Micky Adams and Harry Bassett all have been managers in both camps.

Good to have Steve Cooper on board
