According to a report from The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Leicester are ready to act fast on their next manager. The man in question has not been seen on any of the bookies list of candidates. He is currently in charge of NEC Nijmegen in Holland. Dick Schreuder is the person named as a candidate Leicester are looking to open talks with.
The 54 year old former Stoke defender is a wild card. Under him, NEC Nijmegen plays an ultra-attacking, high-risk “Total Football” style, featuring a fluid 3-4-2-1 formation that often shifts into a 3-2-5 or 3-1-5-1 during possession. The system focuses on creating overloads with five players in the attacking line, using inverted wingers, and operating with a high defensive line.
Nec Nijmegen is currently 3rd in the Dutch Eresdivisie. To leave a club close to European qualification and join a League One outfit looks a no go, but with a special package, who knows if this can be possible.
Dick Schreuder is a very experienced man in the game. This would also be a break away from the settled 4-3-3 set up, so if he comes in, we could see a very different Leicester City.

This is at the moment not more than a rumour but of course one with an impressive season behind him. He joined NEC in front of last season, so surely looks a strange one, but if it happens, it could be a good appointment.
His background is interesting and he is one coming from a run of good results. All of the previous appointments at Leicester since Enzo Maresca left have been people with a recent sacking history behind them. Steve Cooper, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Marti Cifuentes and Gary Rowett had all experienced this situation and that might not be the best when arriving at a club like Leicester, being on a difficult run themselves.
