We have not seen any proof of Gary Rowett trying to get the job at Leicester permanent. A loud fanbase gave a hint of what they thought of him bringing on Harry Winks when Leicester were 2-1 up vs. Hull. You suddenly and as fast Winks was on, hearing booing from the stands.
Rowett showed everyone who is in charge, but was the clown afterwards, throwing away his 2-1 lead with his shambolic behaviour and dispositioning. The fact that certain fans react as they do, is an affair to address, but you should listen carefully, because they were not totally wrong.
Gary Rowett had to take off Jordan James, but giving minutes to Harry Winks, after his recent history with fans and the club in the past, was in no way perfect. Rowett had other alternatives and could have done something else. The fact that he did the opposite shows his attitude. A big head decision maker, having no thought in his mind on the reaction that would occur and what that would do to the team. He neglected that totally and instead believe football is a game without fans having a say on support and behaviour.
Believed Gary Rowett had it in him to get results needed to have saved Leicester. With Jannik Vestergaard and Jordan James to his disposal during all his games in charge, possibly he would have brought more points to the table. Without them he was in no way able to do more than he did.
Gary Rowett might be interested in the job long term, but can’t see him getting it. His approach and actions are far from what was expected. Looking at Harry Winks as part of his firefight brigade was allright, but he made every error in the book when he brought him on, after leaving him out of the starting eleven line-up vs. Hull. He surely had the options to just let him be an emergency man for some action if everyhting went totally wrong, but at the time he made the change, someone else should have jumped in.

How has it all gone so terribly wrong?
He hasn't been helped by City's scattergun recruitment of coaches, but he also hasn't helped himself.

Leicester should in some way at a higher level try to bring the Harry Winks situation to a close. Find a solution with a club interesting to either sign him permanent on a free, or take him on loan. Settle a deal with him that could see him being paid some part of that massive salary by Leicester and some from his new club. Who knows what can be done, but a split in wages must be possible. A loan away would probably solve that option galant.
We do not expect to see Harry Winks in the squad on Saturday. We also hope and believe Gary Rowett will be moving on after the game on Saturday. He was hired to keep the club in The Championship. He failed, so no to choosing him. What we experienced from Gary Rowett in regards to building a good relation with the fanbase, was also totally off target.
He has said before that he do not really rate a fans voice regarding his football decision making, but when he get it wrong and results goes against him, that will hit him even harder.
