In his press confernce, before the Southampton game, Ruud van Nistelrooy made an update on the current injury situation. Mads Hermansen will miss the rest of the season, with an operation stopping him from playing further games. Jacub Stolarczyk will be the man to call on as his replacement.

Abdul Fatawu, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Stephy Mavididi will also miss the remaining games. Facoundo Bounanotte and Ricardo Pereira are both uncertainties vs. Saints.

This will open the door for other players to get minutes going into these final four games. Kasey McAteer, Jeremy Monga, Jordan Ayew are all in contention for starting positions coming Saturday.

We have earlier talked about the use of Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans. Both handing their debuts earlier in the season. However, we have no idea how they will progress, and what type of learning curve we will see.

There are also a number of questions asked regarding the use of Woyo Coulibaly and Caleb Okoli, who both have featured regularly at Serie A level in previous seasons. Coulibaly playing for Parma and Okoli at Frosinone.

There are so many open issues at the moment that to make any assumptions of anything looks very difficult. Let’s hope Ruud van Nistelrooy can pick a competitive team for the game on Saturday.

Our predicted line-up would be;

Stolarczyk – Justin, Thomas, Coady, Faes – Soumare, Ndidi, Bilal – Ayew, Vardy, McAteer
