The facts are clear. Leicester are in an interim period at this time. They have given the current coaching staff the job to start pre-season training on the 30th of June. This is mainly work regarding fitness. This interim management could also be preparing for the first pre-season game. The game is coming up on the 5th of July at Seagrave vs. Peterborough.

After the news about Ruud van Nistelrooy leaving, the updates worry certain fans about what will happen next. Unfortunately, none of it becomes very relevant long term. Different media channels also reports on matters we have no real knowledge about. Negative assumptions and potential breaches of PSR etc, arise as exaggerated and inflammatory discussions. These only serve to add fuel to their belief about a negative outcome.

There are of course concerns, and those are legit. It is negative to see managers sacked on such a rapid scale. However, you need to understand your talk when opening your mouth. Most criticism is coming up regarding the owner and how bad he is compared to his father.

Khun Vichai had the chairman position for eight years. During his time in charge Leicester had seven changes of management. First he decided to sack Nigel Pearson. Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh also had to leave. Paulo Sousa became the next manager. Sousa lasted a few short months, moving on to Svennis. Then a complete u-turn and rehiring Nigel Pearson.

Nigel Pearson took Leicester up and back to Premier League. He struggled heavily in the start of his first season in the top flight. Never before being in charge at this level. Pearson had no relevant background from this life in football, only having brief spells in caretaker roles at this point. A change in results later on, being described as the “great escape”, made it possible for him to stay on. An off field incident with his son and two other players created tension between him and the owner. This conflict resulted in Nigel Pearson being sacked later on.

Leicester fans had to wait to the 13th of July for the appointment of Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri retained the core of the coaching staff. He maintained the regime from Nigel Pearson. This was very similar to what Ruud van Nistelrooy did on his arrival.

Claudio Ranieri brought a different life and new fortunes to Leicester. The fairystory that happened after his appointement was far above any belief what so ever. The different challenges that appeared after Leicester had won the Premier League title has never been talked much about.

In the next season the league campaign became a struggle. However, there were still promising results in Champions League action. Khun Vichai pulled the trigger on Ranieri, sacked him and appointed Craig Shakespeare in caretaker charge. Shakespeare had no previous experience in full time top flight management. He did well as a caretaker, and was offered a contract to carry on permanently. Danny Drinkwater followed N’Golo Kantè out the door at Leicester. This departure gave Shakespeare a major problem. He did not really have the eye for what was needed. This lack of vision, the Adrian Silva transfer error and negative results ended in a new change of management. Former Monaco and Southampton manager Claude Puel was the last appointment made by Khun Vhichai.

Khun Vhichai and Khun Top has been very similar on their path of appointments and sackings. The actions are based solily on results in league action. These appointments and sackings from Pearson to Sousa, via Svennis back to Pearson, on to Ranieri over to Shakespeare, then Puel, has no validity when talking about a certain style or approach regarding football philosophy and thinking.

Khun Vichai sacked Pearson twice, Sousa, Svennis, Ranieri and Shakespeare. He made seven manager appointments in eight years.

From the day Khun Top took charge and early on after his upgrade, he decided to part company with Claude Puel. He appointed Brendan Rodgers as his new man. Brendan Rodgers made Leicester great again, after a bit of trouble since Claudio Ranieri left. However, he also had to see himself sacked, again based on league results and no progress. Dean Smith came in as a caretaker, but had to go, not able to help Leicester to a Premier League survival. Enzo Maresca came next. Looking in the back mirror, a solid move and appointment. He is the only manager in the history of the Thai ownership to resign, moving to Chelsea. Steve Cooper and Ruud van Nistelrooy came next, both sacked after a very short period in the manager chair.

Under Khun Top we have seen Puel leave, Rodgers coming in. Rodgers sacked, Smith becoming interim manager. Cooper and Ruud in charge and dismissed. Only four managers sacked, Puel, Rodgers, Cooper and Ruud. Khun Top has been the chairman at Leicester since the fatal crash and death of his father back in 2018.

The club had financial issues under the time Khun Vichai was in charge. Leicester were given penalties over breaches resulting in fees to be paid to the EFL.

Hopefully fan channels and different journalists will be more accurate in their talk going forward. This will be important when discussing issues about the current owner, his staff, and the club.
