Monaco could have signed Wout Faes earlier in May, after his loan ended. They are not interested in a move if the price is not taken down to a proper level for their budget. The asking price being as low as £7 million.
Faes is a solid defender, but his relationship with some Leicester fans has soured. He has expressed a strong wish to leave the club.
There are other clubs out there who are eager to add top quality defenders and of course the background of Wout Faes would be interesting for a number of clubs.
Schalke is newly promoted to the Bundesliga and could be an option. Lazio was also linked earlier. Fenerbahce and Besiktas are two Turkish clubs that have been involved in the chase before.

We have been surprised in the past with a potential fee as low as £4million could be accepted this summer, or a loan move to just get those wages down, since none of these clubs will be able to offer the type of salary he is on at Leicester.
We hope Wout Fase and Leicester part ways, as their relationship seems strained. While he is a great player to keep, we believe this move is best for both sides.
To see Faes again joining a club on loan for next season, can of course ease the wage budget, but it would better to just get him out, instead of getting zero.
