Today we got the League One fixtures confirmed, starting away to Notts County, then playing Burton Albion at home. The full list of fixtures are to be found on our side board.
Leicester will face Northampton at home in the first round of the Carabao Cup. They have also been drawn in a group with Stevenage, Walsall and Fulham U21 in the EFL Trophy competition.
To see the limit reached on season tickets sold, 23 500, shows the grand support this club have, something that tells a story of loyalty and belief in this fanbase.
Russell Martin spoke today about the fixture announcement, but his comments didn’t address much about the major issues needed to be resolved.
There are rumours about players in and out, but as it stands only Bilal El Khannouss has left and there are a lot of player logistics to be working on before this very important league season kicks off.
A reminder of Leicester City's opening fixtures in League One next season.

Playing Notts County away on the opening day will be challenging. The Magpies are newly promoted from League Two, making this a tough match. We think Sammy Braybrooke will play an important role for Leicester next season; he faced defeat against Notts County while on loan at Chesterfield last season, losing in the play-off semi-final. Interestingly, Chesterfield won both league matches at home and away.
We certainly hope Russell Martin will be well prepared for that season opener at Meadow Lane, taking place on the 15th of August. First he needs to confirm his coaching staff, then he needs to get his first team squad in the best shape possible.
There are numbers of different tasks to solve, hopefully we will not have to wait for answers all the way to the final day of the summer transfer window, closing on the 1st of September.
