Lovely Leicester, travel guide and hopefully soon life as normal

Living in Scandinavia makes it challenging to be at every home game, but travelling to Leicester has over the years been something of a habit with more than 70 visits to the city over the last 20 years.

With short travel distance with plane from several Norwegian and Swedish city’s we are spoiled with chances to watch football live at King Power Stadium, and hopefully we will be back for games when things are normal again.

We have stayed at a number of hotels over the years but what is important for us is the distance from the station, the city centre and of course possible to walk to and from games at The King Power.

You will find interesting and great links to sites related to Leicester City on our site, and we have also a section for the hotells we recommend. Some people like to travel on budget, and some would probably spend a bit more.

We love to go out and a have a meal together often visiting the Indian cuisine and also having a beer at one of the friendly pubs that you will find a number of in and around the city.

If you are looking for a great weekend why not try the new Novotel in the city centre, prices are from £80+ per night and it looks really swell. You are also close to everything, both to the city centre and in walking distance to the ground, but of course a bit away from the railway station, might have to take a cab.

This hotel will be worth a visit, it looks fantastic and for our next trip back to Leicester, we might try this hotell out, it will of course be special occasion as we have been “locked down” both here and there.

We have recommended the budget hotells Ibis and Premier Inn, both well placed and good priced in fine distances for all our priority destinations, and also The Belmont has been one often used by our group, we have now also added Novotel to our list of preferred hotells.
