Leicester need to build a tighter unit and take more risk with less alternatives as interesting players are linked

Christian Eriksen and Jordan Veretout are just two of many players to be linked with Leicester, but we believe Brendan Rodgers must be more bold and cynical in his approach regarding squad depth and numbers of players to be involved.

With a young and very talented group building up in the U.23’s, you could surely do as Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola and not have too many players involved in first team affairs.

Players must be able to play two games a week during the season as you will gain more physical strength by it and match fitness will be better. You will also have less risk of getting injured as the opposite is a massive mistake to judge from.

To play too much when you are back from an injury might be a factor to consider, but as at full fitness resting is idiotic as you cannot predict and know when a player picks up an injury or not, if you have players in your team that cannot play two games a week you will have a massive problem on your hands.

As we see different talk about players leaving we would see that adding new players must only be if you have no squad depth and you need to fill a gap. At the moment Leicester do have too many players not being enough involved and a great number must be given a chance to leave.

We would like to see the fringe brigade reduced to a very minor number as they are there just to cover injured players, but to see the names Caglar Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison linked with other clubs you just gets sad as they all are major players for the club.

We have seen massive failures in the transfer market in the last two windows as Leicester missed the chance to sign Christian Eriksen in January, probably because Maddison and Tielemans are seen as better alternatives, and not being able to give Eriksen any guarantee of first team action.

This is the facit as you go forward not to sign too many players that are not certain starters, and just buy what you would really like to play week in and week out.

Money used on Ayoze Perez, Dennis Praet, Patson Daka, Bouba Soumare and Jannik Vestergaard are above £100million and cashing that out is crazy with other options available at the club allready. The signing of Wesley Fofana looks massive at this point and also the move for Timothy Castagne and James Justin are on the list of positives.

TCF personally believe Ayoze Perez is a good addition, but the use of him is not to understand. Ademola Lookman will be risky business as buying him would not see Leicester climb the table and cannot see him as a better alternative, though progress have been seen in recent games.
