Leicester U.21 in 1-4 defeat to Arsenal as they failed to follow up their 2-1 great season opening win at home to Derby

Leicester U.21 played Arsenal today, being defeated 1-4 away, but early on taking the lead in the 42nd minute, Tom Wilson Brown the goalscorer, being assisted by former Arsenal forward Amani Richards.

This was as expected a difficult game, but still taking the lead so late in the 1st half gives promise of what to expect this season, though 2nd half made it all fall flat as Arsenal scored four goals and Brad Young getting tested as the Leicester goalkeeper had a busy day at the office.

Arsenal goalscorers were Nwaneri 3 and Sweet, as they have started brilliantly bringing home a 3-0 win vs. West Ham in the opening round, as Leicester managed a 2-1 win at home to Derby, but today got a check on their level as the season moves on.

Leicester line-up: Young, Appiah, Cartwright, Ali, Cover, Wilson-Brown, Joseph, Hill, Pennant, Richards, Amartey, Subs: Lindsay, Grist, Evans, Lewis.

Leicester missed the quality of Ben Nelson and Joe Wormleighton, both in the winning team vs. Derby. Tawanda Maswanhise was not either in the line-up as his goalscoring abilities would have been nice to have seen in the game. Zac Booth and Harvey Godsmark-Ford were also absent, as the Leicester team struggled without a number of their key players.

Next up is Blackburn away on the 27th of August, best of luck as the season continues and hopefully Ben Petty’s men will be back on winning ways.
