Not easy to read anything between the lines from Enzo Maresca and his team picking, as Leicester came out in a strong set up, giving starts to Jamie Vardy, Jacub Stolarczyk, Cesare Casadei, Hamza Choudhury, Marc Albrighton and James Justin. Kasey McAteer not in the squad, with a return for Marcal-Madivadua as well as seeing Ben Nelson on the bench alongside Yunus Akgun.
Leicester were of course grand favourites for a win, but it was not easy to get anything through a thick and concrete defense in the early stages of the game.
Leicester and Tranmere were even after first half. Enzo Maresca made four changes after first half, looked a planned idea, but still brutal, especially for Marc Albrighton, who had a good first half, and not part of any action for a while, so he would probably have liked to play on, for the others they will most certainly be in action on Saturday.
Pereira, Marcal-Madivadua, Ndidi and Akgun were the players that came on and in some way they made a difference as Leicester took command and early on Wilfred Ndidi striked in the 55th minute, giving Leicester the lead and setting the line.
A full momentum were set from Jamie Vardy just 4 minutes later, when his strike secured a 2-0 lead. Leicester made a final substitution giving Ben Nelson his first minutes, coming on for James Justin.
Enzo Maresca juggles his squad in a way that makes it possible to get wins on board and with 6 out of 6 possible, he is now on a ride that will see him build a good momentum and bringing forward some interesting stats.
Leicester were of course favourites to bring in this win, and a picture to look this evening, is the on of James Maddison, scoring on his penalty, in their 1-1 draw, but despite that goal Spurs are out, not able to get passed Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Timothy Castagne probably looking on as he is also through to the next round.
The 3rd round draw will take place tomorrow as it will be interesting to follow who Leicester will play next.
