Steve Cooper started with the same team, but again it did not work out as we would have hoped, Fulham being on the front foot from the very first minute.

Fulham came close to a senstational result at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season, but did not convert their chances in goals, this time they had a better ratio, with new signing Emile Smith-Rowe scoring their opener in the 18th minute.

Leicester in some way managed to ease the pressure, but still Fulham were the better team out there. A bit out of nowhere, Leicester were rewarded a corner, and it was a nice header from Wout Faes that found the net in the 38th minute. Leicester were level and they manage to keep it quiet until the break.

Coming out second half we hoped for a change, but Fulham were the most aggressive team and they controlled the match. A terrible defending error in the 70th minute gave the best player on the field, Alex Iwobi, a chance to come alone on the goal, and just shot the ball through Mads Hermansen, as he tried to stop it, but the ball made the net.

Steve Cooper gave Jordan Ayew his debut, coming on 7 minutes before that goal, and a minute after the goal it was time for Oliver Skipp to get his debut. Ayew had one or two attempts, but little to offer, Skipp looked sharp when entering the field, and the trio Winks, Ndidi and Skipp could be something to look at going forward.

Kasey McAteer and Stephy Mavididi were both given minutes, but they did not contribute much as Fulham controlled it towards the end. Leicester had a free kick miss from Ayew and a potential chance for Ndidi, but today Leicester were not much of a treath for an impressive Fulham team, attacking and pressing in the best way possible.

Leicester did not deserve anything from this game, so it will be important for Steve Cooper to get everything sorted for Aston Villa on Saturday, having the Carabao Cup game vs. Tranmere coming first on Tuesday.

  • Positives
    • Steve Cooper giving debuts to Jordan Ayew and Oliver Skip
    • Getting equal with a fine header from Wout Faes
  • Negatives
    • Difficult to get the team up and running, falling flat in many situations
    • A number of players not really performing to the level needed, Victor Kristiansen showed again lack of defensive skills, also having tempo problems at times
    • No offensive plan, looks random and not really part of the tactical plan
    • What is wrong with Ricardo Pereira?, he should be in the team, very strange
    • Stephy Mavididi also one that should start games, strange and disappointing
