Fulham and Watford both hired former Leicester managers during the season. However, they sacked them before the season ended. Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri both experienced this humiliation. They have since done other jobs at other levels with good results. When they left their position at Watford and Fulham, both clubs had a theoretical chance to stay up. However, both were relegated. But to see your team not performing to the level you expect is a grim experience.
Most fans have turned against Ruud, not able to make any progress. Instead having a team far from performing to a level we would expect. Fans are a mixed bag of people. Some are angry because they are not getting value for money. Others feel they are humiliated and get little or no credit following a team that loses most of their games.
Leicester last summer had to sell one quality player. Kieran Dewsbury-Hall was the one sacrifised. To replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Leicester signed three players, Bilal El Khannouss, Facundo Bounanotte and Oliver Skipp. Hamza Choudhury, Harry Winks, Bouba Soumare, and Wilfred Ndidi were the midfielders here allready. They also had a good fringe man in Will Alves. We cannot blame or credit Ruud van Nistelrooy for the signings done over the summer.
The journalists at the press conferences do not ask the correct questions. That is why you get bad answers. They don’t really have the knowledge and what you get is a bag of nothing. They are not challenging Ruud on his tactical moves. We do not receive any questions about his routines during different aspects of substitutions. We do not have insight into what his thoughts are. An interesting question to ask is why Luke Thomas and Patson Daka are getting so few minutes of play, not getting enough time to affect the result. This is occurring in a game where you are 2-0 down at half time.
Leicester are not in a situation where they can go out and buy their players in a shop. A lot of the work done at this football club needs to be trusted. Winning is always the answer for fans. They don’t care about anything else in the end. The rest is up to the people having the jobs to fix that.

Leicester will have a few days to resettle until they face Chelsea away on the 9th of March. Not the easiest opponent. This is another difficult game. It is challenging to get anything from it. We are not really part of that level anymore.
We are not sure Ruud van Nistelrooy looks the long term alternative. His selection is very different from what we expected. He does not trust the young, up-and-coming players. Instead, he starts players we believe are from the future of this football club.
Ruud often waits too long to make his changes during a game. We are baffled about a lot of what he is doing. Brendan Rodgers was also blamed for this in his last season at the club.
Abdul Fatawu and Ricardo Pereira are players that will be back soon. Pereira could soon be available, Fatawu hopefully back in pre-season. We need to see some signs of our potential as a team going forward. Harry Souttar will also be one to call on if next season is played at a lower level. Enzo Maresca did not rate him. However, he is still a player with a bit of presence.
Hopefully Ruud will find some points to build on and improve. A team losing so comfortably will also struggle at a lower level. Leicester look very weak at this point.
