What we know at this time is the following. The club have a committed owner. They also have a first team manager and a coaching staff. They have a solid group of players. Their training facilities are among the best in Europe. Business looks very much the same as it has in the past.
The club have a solid recruitment team. The administration looks well organized and in place. The CEO and DOF are the same as it has been for a very long time.
Planning for next season does not involve printing lines and sentences in social media. This cannot be done just to please certain parts of the fanbase. Most of them are just very angry because of what happened last season.
Leicester have avoided points deductions. This was based on Premier League rules and regulations not being accurate. These inaccuracies were related to league status, promotion and relegation, and different rules regarding this situation.
These are facts, solid facts.
What we have seen in the past year or so is a split fanbase. Some think they have the correct answers to everything. They are super negative. Their negativity is fueled by media printing fake news and gossip.
UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) is one significant system in football. Another is the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). So what are EFL calling their rules and regulations?
Tabloids and other media channels make assumptions. These are printed to get headlines. They call on fans to react to gossip and assumptions. A devoted football fan is like a can of gasoline. If he hear something negative about his “special love” he will react, and go to war. Throughout the past year, we have observed reactions among certain parts of the Leicester fanbase. They seek an answer in a particular blame game. They need something to believe in, but these difficulties are not solved by burning down the house.

Of course there are worries. Everyone have their worries. Leicester, as a club, has acted in ways they believed were correct. They have done this over the last three or four years. The club acted according to their convictions. They have supported the first team manager no matter what.
The most stupid assumption from fans is that Ruud van Nistelrooy has not been backed in the January transfer window. Everyone who understands football knows that Leicester had many players on their wage bill. Steve Cooper had a solid backing over the summer, unfortunately he never managed to balance his spending.
Looking in the back mirror, you can of course criticize the model used over the summer. It involved buying fringe players for amounts far above what was needed. Hamza Choudhury is a great example. A squad player on a long term deal, having experience from Premier League action. He was send out on loan in January. Not really used much before, having signed Oliver Skipp. That was a strange act with no meaning. But what goes on behind the schene, we do not know.
When Leicester won the Premier League and later the FA Cup, agents are eager to earn on this. Players are also looking after themselves, without any thoughts about the club in that picture. The picture is complex, please understand. Leicester struggled to attract their own players even if they had won those major trophies.
This week we have seen stories about King Power and their struggles back home. But those struggles have been there for a while. Reading the story on print, you just get the feeling that something is not as it should be. However, in this business, being in a monopoly situation, there will always be a way out.
We certainly believe that Leicester as a club will take their next step in a positive direction. They will understand their values. Relegation from the Premier League creates difficulties. Being under the scrutiny of the PSR regime adds to these challenges. Additionally, the owners’ struggles in their business life complicate matters.
We can of course stay negative, go around with our heads low, but the opposite will be what matters. Please show your support and be positive, so far what we know is, very far from a disaster.
