First game of the pre-season, playing Peterborough. Expected to be better in every aspect playing a team that ended 18th in League One last season.
Andy King, in charge of the team. The pick was done among the players who have been in from the first day of pre-season.
Hamza Choudhury, Mads Hermansen, Kasey McAteer, Nathan Opoku, Patson Daka, Wilfried Ndidi and Abdul Fatawu were all watching from the stands. Choudhury, McAteer, Daka and Ndidi only returned to training in the last few days after playing for their national teams at the end of last season.
The line-up from start was one good balanced. Key points to look at was the partnership of Nelson and Okoli. Having Marcal back in the line-up, is always nice. Mavididi and Pereira also starters. Winks back in.
Peterborough are in their second week of pre-season, they started very positively having a few corners, but slowly Leicester took more and more command. Wanya Marcal, Mavididi, Skipp and Nelson all having a good session.
There were no goals after the first 45 minutes.

Andy King had said before the game that he would play two teams, one in each half. He kept his word lining up two exciting elevens. We all know Leicester have growing talents in the camp. A number of them got to show themselves today. They all took their chance brilliantly.
Jeremy Monga, Louis Page and Jayden Joseph were all on the pitch, they all flourished today. The youngsters really shone in those 45 minutes on the pitch. A lot of praise also to Olabade Aluko who looks all quality.
They were mixed well with experienced players such as Conor Coady, James Justin, Victor Kristiansen and Bouba Soumare. Silko Thomas also got his chance.
In the 63rd minute, Jeremy Monga made a good run down the left side, passing on to Aluko who found Louis Page, scoring with a nice placed shot from close range. Leicester 1-0 up. A few slips occurred thereafter. Young goalkeeper Stevie Bausor was not lucky with a pass. Chris Conn-Clarke snapped it up and slid it into an open net. This happened in the 74th minute, 1-1.
This line-up of Leicester players looked so well put together. Despite this sloppiness, we had high hopes for more goals. Then in the 78th minute it was time for a new goal to Leicester, again Louis Page being the executor. What a day it became for the 16 year old England U17 international. He was brilliant on the ball and so cool in front of goal.
There were a few worries and some mistakes during this second half. However, it all ended perfectly. Silko Thomas made the most of his chance. He got free space. With that space, he had time to place his shot perfectly into the left side corner. Brilliant to watch as the result became one to be proud about, 3-1.
A good start to the pre-season, brilliantly set up by Andy King and his team. Nice to see him explain what his thoughts have been towards and during this game. It’s not about results. Andy King is focused on building with the brilliance of these youngsters. He looks to enjoy things at the moment.
Nice to see Marc Albrighton back as well, being part of the commentaries today. He reflected on his relations with the club. He talked about Andy King. He also gave some good insight into what pre-season is all about.
A good start to a new campaign. Coming next is OH Leuven in a weeks time. A harder test for Leicester, playing a team from the Belgian top flight.
