Today something extraordinary happened. Leicester chairman, owner and for the time being CEO, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha sat down for a one to one interview with club media journalist Dan Bates.
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, or as we all like to call him, Khun Top, has only made his comments in the match programme from time to time, but not seen doing a public interview since Leicester won the Premier League almost 10 years ago.
The situation at the club has been difficult over some time. Different branches of the fanbase has loadly told everyone they are not really enjoying life as Leicester fans. Khun Top has earlier in the year done different moves to bring some sort of momentum, but the structure is far from robust and build for Premier League regularity.
Khun Top is talking about the fan advisory board, as it is build to get some sort of unity, but still that looks a long path to get every voice of this very fractured fanbase to get under some sort of umbrella.
Khun Top mention in his interview what really happened during the pandemic. Both King Power and Leicester City suffered. The backing of Brendan Rodgers and the fact that many of those signings, never materialising in sales or new contracts, made it difficult.
“I want people to be closer.” 💬

Khun Top speaks, committing to reconnecting with our supporters, after acknowledging the challenges and setbacks of recent seasons.
Khun Top also comes out very humble and admits wrong doing. But he says he believe a new direction in both communication and managemet structure will help the club progress back to a higher level.
This is what certain fans would like to hear, but still, after listening to what’s said around on different fan channels, this looks far from enough for those very critical voices among fans.
Those branches who have talked very negatively of Khun Top in the past, will not be satisfied with what they have heard so far. These people want the whole shebang gone, but we do believe after all our listening and reading that this interview looks a move in the correct direction.
Just minutes after the interview was finished, the club announced the interim appointment of Kamonthip Netthanomsak. She will be looking after commercial affairs at the club on a daily basis and in some way take charge and help Khun Top running the club.
There are also talk about a new technical director being approached very soon. This makes it obvious that Jon Rudkin is in some sort of transition to another role. This is talk based on an article in The Telegraph and not any thing Khun Top talked about in his interview, so far from officially confirmed.
To make a type of resyme from the latest happenings today, we will say it was interesting to listen to Khun Top. His humble and honest talk about the current situation looks to be one major positive. He gave us all some sort of trust and belief even without saying too much directly. Khun Top did not mention any individuals or any talk about moving personel. This is all coming from that article in The Telegraph. The mob of fans, we do not really like to relate to, do believe that a talked up appointment of a technical director will be pushing Jon Rudkin upstairs. That move looks to be the answer for every problem the club have seen in recent years. That is far from the correct answer.
There are no official statement made about any sporting department changes at all. What we heard from Khun Top directly was that he has no other desire than to connect better with fans and move the club in the correct direction. He also said this could take some time. If we do relate to The Telegraph article the change of leadership and new recruitment will not affect the owner structure, earlier mentioning possible new co-owners being invited to the club. There were no direct questions from Dan Bates about ownership issues. But during the interview Khun Top said he was as committed as he has ever been. He has no other plan than to keep the club and be the owner long term.
We have to wait and see what will happen, but without money, psr issues and being in the situation the club are in at this point of the season, looking at their current position in the table, we are more eager to see what the next move will be.
The club is in no way run badly if you look at what’s done in the academy department. That is actually something the DOF has been responsible for. So to be very honest and understanding what the total picture of this is.
We all can agree on that this football club should be in the top tier. They should also be in the top half of that league. This should be the ultimate ambition and goal. Hopefully Khun Top will build that bridge and push the club in the correct direction, that would be perfect.
