Leicester City’s Best XI: What Could Have Been in Premier League and Champions League

We are often taking a round to look up Ex Leicester players and loan men. In the last couple of years, much has happened. You start to wonder how the downfall could be as major as it has been.

With that in mind, Leicester could have conquered the world. The players who have been at this football club over the last decade, would have been more than capable of doing that.

Looking at the goalkeeper situation. Kasper Schmeichel is still delivering at the highest level. Still number one for Denmark. Playing at Celtic, winning the title in Scotland last season. Very much involved in European games. Mads Hermansen would have been a good understudy.

In the back four we believe Ricardo Pereira is the only player in the cuurent squad to be considered for a first team position. Wesley Fofana, Calvin Bassey and Harry Maguire would be fighting for two positions in the central defence. Timothy Castagne and Ben Chilwell are players who would fit well in at left back.

N’Golo Kantè and Riyad Mahrez are still around and would easily have made one of four positions in midfield. Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans are also players who could have filled in that central midfield area. We will of course not forget James Maddison. Harvey Barnes and Ademola Lookman are contenders for that left side in midfield.

Up front still a place for Jamie Vardy. Chris Wood and Andrej Kramaric would have been contenders for an up front position. If you included Harry Kane and Jesse Lingard, and not to forget Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall being impressive at Everton. But we have not picked Kane and Lingard for the squad, they were only on loan for a short time.

This would have been a squad of fantastic quality. This could have been a team fighting for every title on the planet. The problem was clear all the time. None of these players with a few exceptions could not really imagine that to happen. Ayoze Perez not either to be forgotten among those players, a real and good prospect. Jordan James would also be considered in this group. His performances for Leicester this season has been exceptional.

They did win the FA Cup. They also managed to win the Premier League. Of course it could have been repeated with this group of players. You have to pinch your arm. Bilal El Khannouss would not have made the squad.
