No Improvement Seen As Leicester Interim Role Can Be Short Lived

Andy King was the man in charge for the match vs. Charlton. He was assisted by Adam Sadler, who has arrived to help out in this period. They had also brought back Harry Winks in the matchday squad, not really giving us any information regarding the reason for keeping one of the clubs best players out of the team for a long period of time.

Marti Cifuentes must be a very stuborn person and one who have risked his own position at Leicester, just to make an example towards maybe the best player in the squad. Being at a club with few or no answers to bring points on board Andy King made a decision to bring Harry Winks back in the frame.

The game was 0-0 when Caleb Okoli was red carded. The answer to this was Andy King pushing the alarm button and taking off Bobby De Cordova-Reid, bringing on Olabade Aluko, making a change that resulted in massive negatives, letting in two goals. The fact that Leicester were down to 10 men should not result in a two goals deficit.

Olabade Aluko did well as a central defender, but he is mostly playing right back. This shows how desperate the situation is, and also something of a desperate move that luckily worked well. It was a risky decision to make.

Then the injury of Hamza Choudhury brining on Harry Winks and two goals coming after those two changes done. Harry Winks was a positive yesterday. Leicester pushed Charlton back with one player less, so second half was good, but the opponent had a 2-0 lead, so difficult to judge.

We do not have the full answer of this situation and how he has behaved, but he has trained and kept himself in shape. We do not know the full situation and to put Leicester first and bring points on board is the main goal for this football club.

What really happened. Andy King came out of his first game with 0 points, his team is letting in two goals, and he brought back Harry Winks. King also had a defender on the field, totally unbalanced, Caleb Okoli making a total disgrace of himself. This looks far from convincing. The options are few, but to play a full team with academy players will not be a solution. That will end in disaster. Then the writing is on the wall.

Leicester are said to be close to add new players. But the names being approached or talked about are not answers to the problems Leicester have. The 18 year old, Devine Mukasa, from Man City will be an exciting addition, but sorry, he will not bring the leadership needed to get this team climbing the table.

The other name being talked up at the moment is Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo. He is a proven player previously at Rangers and has played regularly for Saints in the past. He has a good tally of full caps for Nigeria. According to Saints fans, Aribo is not in his best form, and no answer at the moment.

Leicester are also linked with another exciting young player in English football, but at the age of Jack Fletcher and his lack of routine will be an open question.

The elephant in the room is not loan players or new additions, but how the club is run at the moment. Andy King had no special change in his belt. He brought on Olabade Aloku playing him a bit out of position. A young player. He showed yesterday that he can be good. Still of course difficult missing Oliver Skipp and Jordan James.

We have said it before, with no addition of a quality striker, Jeremy Monga must be played up front with Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi. They are three players who can take on opponents and build a momentum in front of goal. Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew are not good enough to create things on their own, so they are more depended on other players building a momentum for them.

The fact that the club has a long range of different decisions to make on vacant club management positions, makes it difficult to get a good momentum. The fact that Andy King was seen as a man who could steady the ship for a while, looks difficult. They might have to rush the appointment of a new manager, either short term out the season, or a permanent move for someone.

Gary Rowett looks as such a replacement. He is free and has showed in the past that he can come in and stop downfalls and turn the tide. News about a return for Enzo Maresca would be a shock and looks a fairystory.
