The first round of the World Cup group games are through. Yesterday we had a number of former and current foxes in action. Abdul Fatawu and Jordan Ayew were both in action for Ghana in their 1-0 win vs. Panama. Ayew starting up front, Fatawu coming on in the 58th minute.
England impressed everyone in their 4-2 win vs. Croatia. Harry Kane scored two in the game and impressed with is fantastic work ethic as well as a silky touch. He had to take a penalty twice after it was clear the Croatia goalkeeper left his mark to early. Andrej Kramaric came on second half for Croatia.
Surprised to see Riyad Mahrez dropped from the Algeria starting eleven vs. Argentina. The former Leicester man came on in the 66th minute but could not help his team much as Argentina dominated and showed they will be a difficult opponent for anyone during this tournament. Lionel Messi scored the three goals for Argentina in this impressive 3-0 opening win.
Two days ago on the 16th of June, Chris Wood captained New Zealand in their 2-2 draw vs. Iran. Woods with one assist, but no goals this time. N’Golo Kantè was an unused sub for France in their 3-1 win vs. Senegal.
On the 15th of June, Viktor Johansson was an unused sub for Sweden in their impressive 5-1 win vs. Tunisia.

Timothy Castagne and Youri Tielemans were both in the starting line-up for Belgium in their 1-1 draw with Egypt. Castagne picked up a yellow card.
On the 14th of June, Bilal El Khannouss in the starting line-up for Morocco in their 1-1 draw with Brazil. Harry Souttar captaining Australia to an impressive 2-0 win vs. Turkey. Yunus Akgun came on as a second half sub for Turkey, picking up a yellow card in his minutes on the field.
The next round is up and running and it looks good for the two current Leicester players, Harry Souttar and Abdul Fatawu, both with winning results in the opening round.
