Macaulay Langstaff has left Millwall and joined Salford. This has been confirmed by the official websites of each club. Langstaff has not featured as much as he would have liked during his time at The Den, and his goalscoring has also freezed since joining The Lions in 2024. 5 goals in 71 league appearances is not a good record for a striker.
He was praised by various outlets, reporting on Leicester, as a great signing for our club, possibly due to his goal-scoring record at lower levels with Notts County, where he scored 70 goals in 91 league matches.
Leicester were also softly linked with midfielder Miles Peart-Harris who has decided to join Middlesbrough. He left Oxford after his contract expired this summer and has agreed a move to Teeside and Boro’.
Leicester looks to have completed their third full transfer this summer, allowing Jeremy Monga to sign for Man City for a fee of £10million. We are waiting for more exits, with a lot of uncertainty regarding the squad that will be fighting for points next season.
Reports yesterday suggest that Jannik Vestergaard also will be leaving the club and join a club in the Danish Superliga. We are also uncertain about the future of Harry Winks, Wout Faes, Oliver Skipp, Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli, Victor Kristiansen, Harry Souttar, Hamza Choudhury, Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi.
Russell Martin has confirmed two new recruits, Conor Hourihane and Rhys Owen. Non of them are players and will be part of the coaching staff next season.
Leicester and Charlton are among a number of clubs eyeing a move for striker Mikael Mandron on a free transfer.

One player looks to be joining the club, hoping what we have heard regarding Conor Chaplin is true. Leicester are said to have held talks and that a deal is done, but so far nothing confirmed from official sources. Chaplin (29) is a player of good capacity and strange if he is not wanted at a higher level, something that could be a reason for the delay in this confirmation.
Leyton Orient are said to be willing to listen to offers for their top striker Dom Ballard. He is accordingly valued to £5million, with Bristol City the front runner in chase for the former Southampton player.
Leicester were yesterday seen linked with St. Mirren forward Mikael Mandron. He is a player that could fit in. The 31 year old is a type of profile that would be a good fit for Leicester.
The rumour of Leicester signing Plymouth forward Lorent Tolaj has faded. In recent reports from local news paper The Herald, interviewing the Argyle manager Tom Cleverley, he confirms that several clubs have shown an interest in their two top strikers Tolaj and Pepple. But also says, despite a loss for The Pilgrims of around £10million in the latest financial year, that he is under no pressure to sell his striker duo.
Hopefully something will happen over the next couple of weeks to understand what type of group Russell Martin will be working with when the season opens. We might have to wait long, as we did last season, to understand what will happen as the silence on new players in, are deeper than in an anechoic chamber at the moment.
